Organizational Consulting and Interpersonal Skills Training
Marlin S. Potash, Ed.D. is the founder and president of Potash Management Corp. Augmenting her role with PMC, Dr. Potash is a licensed psychologist, marriage and family therapist, and coach.
As Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Potash teaches psychiatrists in training. She consults regularly with a wide variety of publicly and privately held organizations including banks, educational and financial services institutions, as well as entrepreneurial and family owned businesses, on psychological and interpersonal dimensions of organizational effectiveness. In her clinical practice, she provides individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. She works in concert with cardiologists, neurologists, gynecologists on the psychological dimension of the mind-body connection, including stress and anger management, and chronic illness.
Dr. Potash is the author of Hidden Agendas: What's Really Going on in Your Relationships - in Love, at Work and in Your Family and co-author of Am I Weird or Is This Normal: Advice and Info to Get Teens In the Know and Cold Feet: Why Men Don't Commit. A Harvard Business School Case Note on Partnerships was based on her work comparing entrepreneurial partnerships and couples. She has also authored a variety of articles for professional journals as well as two book chapters (“A Man Who Loved Too Much: When Women Treat Men: Female Therapist/Male Patient” in New Psychotherapy for Men: Case Studies, W. Pollack and R. Levant, eds.
Dr. Potash appears regularly on televised shows such as "The Today Show," "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and “Inside Business,” and she has been quoted regularly in publications such as The New York Times and Fortune, among others. In addition she speaks frequently for business and educational organizations.
Faculty appointments have included Harvard University, and Boston University at the Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. She has also taught at Lesley College; Emmanuel College; Tufts University; Harvard University Medical School and Fordham University School of Social Service. Dr. Potash serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Francis College as Secretary. She consulted for the Middlesex Family and Probate Court in Massachusetts for twenty years, as well as serving as consultant on Governor King's Commission on the Status of Women, and Special Commission on Probate and Family Court Procedures, Custody subcommittee.
Dr. Potash is a magna cum laude graduate of Jackson College, Tufts University, and received her master’s and doctoral degrees from Boston University. She has done post-graduate work in Organization Psychology at Teachers College Columbia University and The University of Michigan, completing the Advanced Program in Organization Development and Human Resource Management.
